Efficiency in high-traffic environments is often the difference between a frustrated customer and a loyal one. We recently partnered with MXP to solve a critical operational challenge for Executive Parking—replacing a legacy system that could no longer keep up with the demands of a modern facility.
The project began with a common problem: unreliable LED signage that failed to accurately reflect available parking spots. Leveraging our expertise in IoT sensors and electronic control systems, we didn't just fix the signs—we overhauled the entire monitoring infrastructure.
Engineering a Rapid Recovery
Speed and versatility are core to how we operate at Expandoworks. By utilizing our highly adaptable breakout boards, we moved from the initial client request to a fully functional, live system in just one month.
The technical architecture of this solution includes:
Advanced Detection: We integrated with existing loop detectors at every entrance and exit, ensuring every vehicle is accounted for in real-time.
Cutting-Edge Hardware: By combining LiDAR sensors with LoRaWAN technology, we built a high-precision platform capable of tracking vehicle movement without the massive infrastructure costs typical of traditional systems.
The KyberEdge Advantage: Our proprietary logger boards act as the brain of the operation, ensuring stable data transmission and long-term reliability.

Data-Driven Management with OMLY
A smart sensor is only as good as the data it provides. This entire system is integrated directly into our OMLY Dashboard, the same powerful platform used for our Kyber-air weather stations and industrial gateways.
With this integration, the facility management team can now access:
Live Vehicle Counts: Automatic updates that keep occupancy data accurate down to the second.
Operational Insights: Analytics that help identify peak times and reduce bottlenecks at entry points.
Customer Satisfaction: Real-time signage that prevents drivers from entering a full lot, streamlining the entire parking experience.
Why Expandoworks?
Whether it’s developing a 3S 20A Battery Management System or monitoring a city parking lot, our approach remains the same: design locally, build for precision, and deliver at scale. Our ability to source components weekly and handle high-speed SMT assembly in-house means we can turn complex hardware challenges into success stories faster than the competition.
If your current traffic or parking monitoring system is failing to meet expectations, let’s connect. We specialize in turning "ideas into reality" through world-class South African engineering.
